Work Experience

Stream I.T. - Network Engineer May 2014 - Present I originally started as a contractor, with Stream. I specialized in FreePBX VoIP PBX systems setup and troubleshooting. In May of 2017 I was hired on as a full time network engineer and support technician. Duties include troubleshooting and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Linux based computer systems and accompanying software and hardware, both remotely and in person, for customers all over the U.S.

Freelance Asterisk Nerd Part Time I've built GSM Networks & Applications. I built SMS applications and Asterisk Voice Applications for deployment "in the field". I built Medwebs IVR4Baby & Midwife Connect applications.

Freelance Network Security Expert Part Time I sometimes contract to perform medium to large scale network security assessments for law firms, information technology firms, and market research firms. Part of this process is to identify critical vulnerabilities, exploits, and system configuration errors, identifying potential entry points attackers may use to infiltrate sensitive networks.

Freelance Web Developer Part Time I've built a number of custom websites and web applications for customers, utilizing PHP, MySQL, JQuery, and Javascript. My current hobby is building Baconholics.

Medweb - Senior Support Admin. Nov. 2008 - May 2012 Duties included responding to emergency and weekend phone calls. Assisting tier-1 technicians. On call support. Troubleshooting remote and onsite Linux systems (RHEL & Fedora) and Microsoft Windows environments. Writing patches when necessary. Evaluating and integrating third party medical software. Project managing the development and implementation of PACS software used in clinics worldwide.

Medweb - Senior Deployed Admin. July 2010 - Aug. 2011 On my second tour in Afghanistan I was responsible to handling a team of upwards of three deployed technicians in country. This tour was approximately a year long. During this tour I assisted with designing and migrating Medweb servers to a new network designed for use of high traffic MRI units being installed in Role 3 Medical Facilities. I personally installed servers at 14 new sites and was responsible for monitoring 22 Medweb systems in country. Position also included duties of the Deployed Systems Engineer.

After my tour I received a certificate of appreciation for my work in building the network used by the first MRI units deployed to Afghanistan, used for early evaluation of Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Medweb - Deployed Systems Engineer. Apr. 2009 - Aug. 2009 On my first tour I was responsible for installing and managing systems in hospitals and remote clinics throughout six sites distributed all over Afghanistan. Duties included troubleshooting VSAT networks, training users how to use the Medweb system. Held a Position of Trust clearance.

ForEx Trade Advisors - Principal Engineer Sept. 2006 - Nov. 2008 I served as Chief Technology Engineer. Responsible for Website Development, Datacenter Implementation, Software Integration & Distribution. Involvement in a number of initiatives related to improved centralized and automated network management systems to meet corporate goals with minimum capital expenditure. Primary job duties include Gentoo Linux server administration, cabling/recabling of buildings, DS1/T1 installations, Server installation/troubleshooting, Workstation installation/troubleshooting, and top tier technical support.
